Entry 3 - Shenanigans

My communication device had begun making notification noises after I finished lunch and it was the female specimen I had met the first day of my arrival: Liberty Lee. She invited me to a festival dedicated to jokes and mischief. It sounded very interesting and would give me the opportunity to observe the entertainment rituals.
The first thing I was told to do upon arrival was to drink the yellow or the purple juice. The yellow juice looked a bit more appetising and so my choice was made. It was sweet, but with a hint of tartness that was very pleasing to the palate.

Apparently, by drinking the juice, I had joined a group called Jokesters. Unsure what that meant, I felt the need to inquire with Liberty. She was happy to tell me what this festival was about, but we were soon interrupted by a male specimen that called himself Ken Myles. "You! I know what you are! You are an alien!" It was to be expected, my surprise. Liberty was in shock as well. I was at a loss as to how he found out. Apparently, I had made another faux pas, but, to this day, I do not know.

It seemed that no one believed him. I overheard a random specimen talking about tinfoil hats... whatever that was. Liberty was very apologetic to me even though she had done nothing wrong. Humans were odd of that nature. Another male soon arrived and introduced himself as Paolo Rocca. He had imbibed the yellow juice as well. Seeing as this was a team sport, as he called it, he came up with a plan to win. Liberty seemed very excited and so I found my curiosity peaked. I agreed with the plan.

Paolo wrote something down upon a thin paper and told me to repeat everything verbatim. I was becoming rather famished and bought an interesting dish. The chef did such an excellent job that I was able to deduce the ingredients so that I might attempt to prepare it myself.

It was time to approach the stage and, having memorised the lines, began the routine. Unsure why I had to dig through the rubbish for props, but the crowd seemed to enjoy themselves and the Jokesters were declared the winners.

  1. Hi, I'm chocis. Well, Chocis is my dog, but you know, I'm from the Forums.
I can see you have a thread there, so I'll follow it for updates. I vastly enjoy this outsider's perspective on humanity, it's very witty. The plot seems to thicken quickly. Did the masseur figure out Chole was an alien and tell one of his friends?
