Entry 2 - Spa Day
During my excursions through the neighbourhood, I happened across a spa. I have never heard of such a thing and felt this an excellent opportunity to find out. People seemed to enjoy whatever was inside as well. Once I was inside I was met with a rather large and firm specimen and inquired about the place. He was a friendly one but seemed restless as he continued to flex and bend as if he had an itch. The female specimens seemed to enjoy it, or so he said to me. "My yoga class starts in 30 minutes, you should join." He had suggested and, unknowing of this Yoga, I agreed. The room smelled of Bog Lilies - very woody and spicy, like a warm, slightly powdery, and 'creamy' wood. I always loved that scent.
I never knew humans stretched that way! I was sure to add that to my notes. After the class had ended, I wanted to learn more about this spa and was approached by another specimen, male as well, but not as large nor firm. Offering me something called a 'message', I agreed and lay upon the oddly shaped bed in nothing but a towel. It was comfortable, but I knew of nothing from home to compare it.
I did not know what to expect and again I scented the Bog Lily. Its aroma putting me at ease as the masseur, as I learned he was called, began to work on my muscles. Similar in anatomy, I do have a few different muscle groups, but I failed to realise this until it was too late.
The masseur was skilful and managed to focus on a few muscles I never knew I had. It was a bit painful when he pressed his thumb into one that a normal human would have.
Perhaps the masseur grew frustrated, or perhaps he was not as experienced as I had thought, even still, perhaps humans enjoyed this type of treatment but the relaxing therapy soon turned into what I can only describe as torture. Spots formed before my eyes as my back was bent farther than intended, joints popped and twisted as my torturer manipulated every part of me. It seemed to last several Earth hours before I was finally released. Panting heavily, I lay upon the odd bed before being told I had to leave.
I was rather nervous to try anything else, but I was determined to gain all I could from this 'spa'. "Sauna." I read the writing upon the door and my curiosity was renewed. Entering the room, the aroma of steam and heat hit me. It was hot, but not overly so. I had been in hotter planets. The humidity was the worst of it. It was a good thing my species sweats. Still not as bad as the swamp planet, Ieucarro.
The sudden need to relieve myself soon overcame me and had to cut my relaxing short. I was still a bit sore from the torture that was called a massage, but it was late and I needed to get back to the shelter.
Even though I had learned much, the walk home was arduous. I shall have to conduct research on a human's pain tolerance once everything is set. These humans are very odd.
